I DO MY BOYFRIENDS MAKEUP | Man is he a trooper!

Hey all and happy Saturday!  Things have calmed down quite a bit over here, which I knew they would but it doesn’t mean it wasn’t any less stressful.  “Snowmaggedon” has finally seemed to calm a bit although the people here are as dumb as ever.  Seriously, it was insane, people were stocking up on bread, water, milk, as if “The Day After Tomorrow,” was really happening.  The more rural areas of Washington, I’m understanding.  I live in a city and the manager of the Safeway I go to said this was their best selling week ever.  Even over holiday periods.  People are just idiots.  But whatever, I’m pretty sure most of us already know that.

Anywho, we are not here to talk about people being dumbasses and the general herd mentality bullshit.  Today I am bringing you a video of me doing my boyfriend’s makeup!  Honestly, never thought I’d see the day where a boyfriend lets me do their makeup.  I have not had good relationships in the past, this one is completely different.  I guess that’s what can happen when you give yourself plenty of time as a person to grow and hone in on what you are really looking for in a partner and looking for out of life.

I’m so happy as to how this video came out, it was a blast to film and honestly, if I left everything in there it would have been about an hour long… an hour long of a lot of laughing!  It was so hard for me to edit this video, I was laughing the entire time!  So, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did filming and editing it!

1st Makeup Declutter of 2019! | 1ST MAKEUP DECLUTTER OF 2019 & HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!

Hey gang and HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!  Today I am bringing you my first makeup declutter of 2019 and I’m also bringing you a huge announcement that I am so excited about.  Today’s post is going to be a bit shorter than my usual posts and the reason for that being… I STARTED A YOUTUBE CHANNEL!  I know, I know.  I said I’ve tried to in the past and I felt like I couldn’t really be me.  But, I tried it again and I felt really comfortable, so I said FUCK IT.  Also, something that I haven’t mentioned in the past, is I’ve been very apprehensive about starting a channel.  Lots of doubts floating through my brain such as there are already a ton of beauty channels out there, you are not a professional makeup artist, you don’t have anything unique to offer, yadda, yadda, yadda.  But you know what?  Fuck that.  We all have something unique to share with the world, a different view, a different approach.  If I take the doubtful approach, I would not be where I am today, even as a dog groomer.  Literally, for YEARS, I have wanted to start my own YouTube channel, but lack of self-confidence for YouTube and those doubts have held me back too long.  A few times a month, from various people, I have been told I should start my own channel.  Well, today is that day!  Now you can catch more of my sass in action and a bit more of my personality because there is only so much you can try and show through on paper.

So, if you would like to check out my first video, which so happens to be my first makeup declutter of 2019, CLICK HERE or the link below.  I hope to continue tieing in my blog with the YouTube channel in the future, so wish me luck on this new adventure!  I hope you guys have a great rest of the night!!

Foundation Friday: Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Foundation | Foundation Friday: Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Foundation

Hey gang and happy Friday!  Today is the start of my weekend and I thought to kick it off, let’s do a full day wear test and foundation review!  For makeup, my blog focuses on cruelty-free beauty, so today I wanted to bring you the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Foundation.  Currently, I have the shade 6.5 and it is a bit too yellow for me, I should have gone with 6, but I rather go more yellow than pink.  This is not a first impression, but it is still new to me.  I’ve worn it throughout the week, have some thoughts on it, but I wanted to showcase it to you guys, go over some things I have noticed with it, then do an update later on in the month.  Hope that is okay with you guys!  Anywho, enough rambling, let’s get on with it!

Also, quick side note.  Foundation Friday’s were inspired, for me anyway, by Taylor of ThaTaylaa.  She is the first person that I ever saw doing Foundation Friday videos and I’ve been watching YouTube for a very long time.  So, credit for the inspiration all goes to that wonderful badass!

Alright, like you can tell by the title and into, it is all about the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Foundation today.  I picked mine up from Ulta and it runs for $12 and you get 0.8 oz worth of product, which is less than the average amount of 1 oz for more foundations.  It comes in 24 shades, with what I feel is a good variety of fair, light, medium, deep, and dark shades.  The packaging is frosted glass with a rose gold top and it is a doe foot applicator.  I don’t mind a doe foot applicator, the only somewhat issue with the packaging that I noticed is if you pull out the applicator too quickly, it can splatter a bit so be careful.

Today, I washed, toned, and moisturized like normal and for primer, I did use a little bit of my Catrice Prime and Fine Smoothing Refiner on my pores, but not all over my face.  From playing around with this foundation for about a week now, I have learned something vital in regards to application, do one small section at a time.  This foundation dries incredibly quickly.  The first time I used it, I had a hard time blending out the marks of initial application of foundation.  The best method I found was working a quarter of my face at a time, so that is what I did today.  On one half of my face, I used a brush and the other side a sponge.  I don’t notice a major difference between the sides, maybe a tiny bit more coverage on the brush side, however, it was easier to blend out using the brush but I did not like the overall finish.  So, I did go over with it with my sponge with no additional product, just to smooth it out a bit. | Foundation Friday: Initial Application, Front View | Foundation Friday: Initial Application, Brush Side | Foundation Friday: Initial Application, Sponge Side

Off the bat, not a huge fan of it.  It is not terrible but I don’t like how it sits on and around my nose, as well as around my mouth.  It looks very dry on my skin and very heavy.  Note, I do not have dry skin.  I have normal to slightly oily in my t-zone.  I rarely battle dry patches, mostly just on the tip of my nose. | Foundation Friday: Initial Application, Full Face of Makeup

This is what it looks like after putting on the rest of my makeup.  Another thing that I have noticed is that I need to conceal one eye at a time.  Something about this foundation, how quickly it dries, it also makes my concealer dry down quickly as well.  To note, I did not use a new concealer, nor new face products because I need to know how well this product performs.  Besides the slight issue with the concealer, all of my other products, powder, bronzer, contour, and highlight applied fine, no issues there.  After I applied the rest of my makeup, overall I do like how it looks.  So far no major complaints but I’m still not a fan of how it looks in my nose creases, my nose in general, and I feel it looks a bit weird around my mouth.  Check-in time is 8:30 am.  My goal is to wear it until about 5/530pm today because I am doing this post the same day.  I will be testing it out for longer time periods throughout the month and give my overall thoughts on this foundation then.

What’s on the rest of my face:
Primer: Catrice Prime and Fine Smoothing Refiner
Concealer: Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer in Fair
Undereye Powder: Milani Prep + Set + Glow Illuminating Transparent Powder (discontinued WTF?!?!)
Face Powder: Covergirl Advanced Radiance Pressed Powder in Ivory
Bronzer: Physician’s Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer in Bronzer
Contour: L.A. Girl Just Blushing Powder in Just Because
Highlight: Black Moon Cosmetics Moonlighter in Centipede
Eyeshadow: Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Palette
Brows: J. Cat Pro-cision Micro Slim Brow Pencil in Black
Mascara: Covergirl Last Blast Volume in Black
Eyeliner: NYX Wonder Pencil in Light
Lipstick: Kat Von D Beauty Studded Kiss Creme Lipstick in Bow N Arrow
Lip Gloss: Dose of Colors Lip Gloss in Rockin’ It
Setting Spray
: Kat Von D Beauty Lock-It Setting Mist | Foundation Friday: 1st Check-In, Front View | Foundation Friday: 1st Check-In, Brush Side | Foundation Friday: 1st Check-In, Sponge Side

For the first check-in, the time is 1:26pm or let’s just round it up to 1:30pm.  It has been on for 5 hours at this point.  I don’t feel it has oxidized throughout the day which is fantastic for me, that is a problem I have with most foundations, them oxidizing throughout the day and turning me into an Oompa Loompa, so plus number 1!  If you zoom in around my nose region, I’m still not thrilled with how it looks.  It still seems a bit dry and cakey around the nose creases and underneath the nostril cavities.  I am noticing just a very tiny bit of creasing around my smile lines, but nothing major and I do notice a couple of dry patches forming under my lower lip.  Overall, I like how it is wearing, looks really nice on my forehead, I don’t feel oily or greasy at all.  At this point, I really like how it is warming up with my skin and I love the amount of glow my skin has at the moment. | Foundation Friday: Final Check-In; Front View | Foundation Friday: Final Check-In, Brush Side | Foundation Friday: Final Check-In, Sponge Side

Alright, so the final check-in is at 5:30pm today, as I said earlier, it is the same day.  I’m trying to quickly finish this up so it is up at 6pm my time (PST) for you guys.  So the foundation has been on for a total 9 hours, which is not as long as I would like, but still a decent wear time.  As you can see from the pics from above, I feel it looks about the same as the 1:30pm check-in.  It looks a bit dewier but still nice.  Still a little cakey around my nose and mouth area but it doesn’t appear as dry as earlier.  Also, the creases around my mouth are a bit more prominent but nothing that would deter me away from using the foundation in the future.

Alright gang, so that does it!  At this point, with the few times that I have used this foundation, I do like it.  However, I will give my final thoughts at the end of the month, once I try a few different techniques, primers, powders, etc. on top of it to make sure it works well with other products in my collection.  It has lasted really well throughout the day on my skin, and even though it is a bit tricky at first, I’m excited to keep playing with it throughout the month!  Have you given this foundation a try yet?  If so, what do you think of it?  Let me know in the comments!  Also, let me know if there are any other cruelty-free foundations you would like me to test out in the future!  Thank you for stopping by and until next time!

Beauty, Makeup Baskets

Shop My Stash: January 2019 Makeup Basket | January 2018 Makeup Basket

Hey gang and happy Wednesday!  Hope your day went well, mine was a bit of a shit show considering it was a day after a major holiday, I work in grooming at a dog kennel, and of course, everyone wants their dogs clean after staying in a kennel.  Groomers are definitely taken advantage of and not appreciate, well in general, but especially around this time.  But who cares, this is my happy place and I am here to chat about makeup!  Specifically my makeup basket for January!  I’m super excited about this month’s basket and if you are curious to see what I’m putting in there, well keep on reading!

Please Note: This post DOES contain affiliate links. | January 2018 Makeup Basket - Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry | January 2018 Makeup Basket - Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry

Let’s start out with what palette I’m going to be pulling in this month and that is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Palette.  I’ve played with it a few times but haven’t really gotten a good feel of it.  I want to really play with all of the shimmer/metallic shades, try out some new techniques, and hopefully by the end of the month give my full thoughts on it. | January 2018 Makeup Basket - Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Foundation

For foundation, since I’m no longer working on a project pan, I wanted to play around with other foundations in my collection.  So I thought I would pull in the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Foundation.  I’ve worn it once but didn’t really pay attention to anything, wear time, if it broke down or not.  I would like to do a review with a full days wear test for Friday, play around with it for the rest of the month, and then do an updated review at the end as well.  We shall see! | January 2018 Makeup Basket - Milani Baked Blush & Wet N Wild ColorIcon Blush | January 2018 Makeup Basket - Milani Baked Blush & Wet N Wild ColorIcon Blush

As of late, I’ve been really trying to expand my blush collection so to utilize my growing blush stash, I thought I would pull in my Milani Baked Blush in Rose D’oro and my Wet N Wild ColorIcon Blush in Pearlescent Pink.  Both are more glowy blushes.  The older and more experienced I’ve become with wearing makeup, the more into a more overall glowy look. | January 2018 Makeup Basket - Wet N Wild ColorIcon Bronzer & Black Moon Cosmetics Moonlighter | January 2018 Makeup Basket - Wet N Wild ColorIcon Bronzer & Black Moon Cosmetics Moonlighter

Highlight, highlight, highlight.  Good grief, I am definitely not short of highlighters in my collection.  For this month I really want to pull in my Wet N Wild ColorIcon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana, as well as Black Moon Cosmetics Moonlighter in Centipede. | January 2018 Makeup Basket - Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick & Kat Von D Beauty Studded Creme Lipstick

For lips, I genuinely am really good at working through and rotating my lipsticks.  However, I have been neglecting a couple that I would like to incorporate more of this month.  Those being my Kat Von D Beauty Studded Kiss Creme Lipstick in Bow N Arrow and my Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in Psychic Medium.

That’s it, gang.  I want to start making my makeup baskets more refined like this.  I do love switching up products often, however, this is more of a guide on a few products that I would like to incorporate more than others because they are either new or have been neglected a bit.  I’d love to hear about what products you are working on this month or I’d love to hear if you have used these products, what your thought on them was.  I think that’ll do it for me today gang.  I hope you have a great rest of your night, or day depending on where you are, and I will catch you back here Friday!

December 2018 Empties! | December 2018 Empties

Hey all and Happy New Year’s Eve!  We have all finally got to this day, this point of being the end of 2018 and again, it blows my mind how quickly this year flew by.  I don’t know what my plans are for tonight, but James has decided to make us dinner tonight, so I am definitely looking forward to that.  He’s experimenting with cooking tofu for the first time in his life.  How sweet is that?  Anywho, let’s get onto why we are here.  Today is my empties for the month of December!  I have some very big empties this month, so enough blabbering, let’s get on with it!

Please Note: This post DOES contain affiliate links.  Thank you! | December 2018 Empties

First up, let’s get the samples out of the way.  I finally, FINALLY used up a deluxe sized sample of the Laneige Water Bank Moisture Creme.  It bums me out because I’ve used the Water Creme and absolutely loved that product and I do love this product as well.  Unfortunately, Laneige is not a cruelty-free brand.  Then is a sample of the Kat Von D Sinner Perfume.  Oh my gosh, I remember when she first released this perfume YEARS ago and fell in LOVE.  Unfortunately, that perfume that I purchased, I misplaced, lost, who knows.  Getting this sample has definitely helped me re-fall in love with this scent.  Once I work on some more perfumes, this will definitely be a repurchase for me! | Wet N Wild Under the Sheets Makeup Remover Towelettes

This product I have in my empties almost every month.  I love the Wet N Wild Under The Sheets Makeup Remover Towelettes.  The formula is great, works well for me, doesn’t burn my eyes, are inexpensive, and I can usually get them for buy one get one half off, or 40% off fairly regularly so I frequently stock up. | Beauty Blender Pro

Never thought I would finally throw my Beauty Blender Pro into an empties but after using it for almost a year and a half now, I thought it is finally time to let it go and use my backup.  Some people don’t feel a BB is worth the splurge, however, I have yet to try a beauty sponge that works as well as the Pro one or last as long.  For that reason, this will always be a repurchase. | Milani Prime Shield Mattifying + Pore-Filling Primer

Oh my gosh, the primer that never DIES!  The Milani Prime Shield Mattifying + Pore-Filling Primer took me quite a while to finally use up.  Great bang for your buck.  I have purchased this bad boy twice now.  Currently, I am trying other pore-filling primers, also from the drugstore, and am trying to figure out if this would be a repurchase in the future.  It works fine, reminds me of a good, basic primer.  Nothing spectacular, but not terrible. | Besame Cosmetics Vanilla Brightening Powder

This Besame Cosmetics Vanilla Brightening Powder ended up being quite gorgeous on the skin, especially on the undereye.  However, I’m not a fan of loose powders.  Loose powders are one of those products that for some fucking reason, I keep purchasing and never use because I am not a fan.  When I pressed this into a compact, damn, I could not get enough of it!  However, I don’t want to take the time to press it into a compact and for that reason, I would not repurchase. | FLOWER Beauty Seal the Deal Hydrating Setting Spray

Besides highlighters, I have quite a few setting sprays in my collection.  The positive, I love all of the setting sprays I currently have and I am sad to see this one go.  The FLOWER Beauty Seal the Deal Hydrating Setting Spray is a beautiful setting spray and considering the amount of product you get, I truly feel it is a great price point.  I think it’s around $14 for 3.4 fl oz of product, however, it goes on sale often, making the end price much cheaper.  Once I go through more in my collection, I will purchase more of these bad boys… or when I find them on sale, haha! | Bath & Body Works Sensual Amber Fine Fragrance Mist

Yet another Bath & Body Works Sensual Amber Fine Fragrance Mist.  I am pretty sure this is the second one I have finished for the year.  I also still have one in my backup.  This has been a staple fragrance and body wash for YEARS for me, but then Bath & Body Works had to go and fuck it all up and are no longer cruelty-free.  So, I will definitely be looking for new scents soon. | Michael Kors Sexy Amber Perfume

Good lord, I honestly never thought I would see the day that I would finish a 3.4 fl oz, full-size perfume.  Like, never.  I’ve finished up around 5 or 6 roller balls, several samples, and even a couple of 1 oz perfumes.  So finishing up this 3.4 fl oz Michael Kors Sexy Amber Perfume was such a task!  I had fallen out of love with this fragrance, then putting in into a project pan it helped me re-fall in love with it.  However, not cruelty-free and would not repurchase.

Phew, so that’s it!  That’s all the products I finally managed to finish up and work through this month.  I’m so curious as to how many products I have actually managed to use up this year, unfortunately, I never kept up with the numbers throughout the year.  This upcoming year, my goal is to start writing down my empties along with the monetary value and this time next year together we can see what I did!  Well, I hope you all have a fantastic New Year’s and be safe!  Call a cab or Uber if you are going out and have a wonderful night!  See y’all in the New Year!

Beauty, Project Pans

Movie Madness Project Pan – Finale! | Movie Madness Project Pan FINALE!

Hey gang!  And happy Friday!  Hope all is well for you!  Everything is going well on this end!  Today I am here to bring you my Movie Madness Project Pan FINALE!  This project we got to chose between 4-6 items and base them off any movie.  I picked four because 4 is my lucky number.  I swear, it feels like I just started this project and now I am bringing you the finale.  I almost feel like if you want the year to go by faster, do a 3-month project pan and watch the time just fly by!  So before I babble on too much longer, let’s get into the products, shall we?

Please Note: This post DOES contain affiliate links.  Thank you!

Two products do not have updated photos.  The reason for that being I did not touch them ONCE during the last month.  Those products being my OPI Classic Nail Lacquer in Black Onyx (for the wonderful movie Hocus Pocus) and the Kat Von D Beauty Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Nahz Fur Atoo (for my beloved Dracula).  The nail polish hasn’t moved because I didn’t paint my nails at all the first couple of weeks in December, then I went a got my acrylics put back on (Lord did I miss them) and decided to be festive by putting on a sparkly red (China Glaze Ho! Ho! Ho! in case you are wondering).  The reason I haven’t been wearing the lipstick is the trouble it has caused me.  The couple of times I have worn it, I’ve had trouble with it bleeding out the lip line, fading extremely fast, and transferring everywhere.  I’m honestly coming to the conclusion that most red liquid lipstick shades do this and it is frustrating. | Movie Madness Project Pan FINALE!

Now moving onto products that I have made a dent on!  Here we’ve got the L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream, which was in reference to the Silence of the Lambs and I’m sure you can guess why if you have seen that movie.  Throwing it into this project, I have made some steady but significant progress.  I feel I used up about 1/3 of the product and have about that remaining! | Movie Madness Project Pan FINALE!

The last product is because I’m a glutton for punishment 😉 which is in reference to my favorite movie of all time, Se7en.  It is the Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer.  Here is another product that I made steady progress on and I truly felt added up to great results.  The funny thing is, I don’t use much of this product and I feel I used up quite a bit in 3 months.  Honestly, though, these are all rough estimations.  I was scraping through the bottle trying to see where I possibly was.  This is the oldest concealer in my collection.  It is definitely a good one but I need to work through it before it gets funky!

So there we have it guys, my last project pan for 2018!  Granted, I only did 3 project pans this year, all towards the end, however,  I have done project pans in the past and never stuck with them.  Even though this project was not a complete success, the fact that I stuck with it through the end is huge for me!  I will take small accomplishments such as these!  Anywho, thank you so much for taking time out of your day to check out my finale and blog, I hope you have a fabulous weekend and I will hopefully see you back here on Monday!  Until then!

New Year’s Eve Glam Eye Look | New Year's Eve Glam Eye Look

Hey gang, how’s it going?  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, you spent it either with loved ones or relaxing alone.  As I mentioned previously, I did one Christmas this past Saturday with my boyfriend and his son and then another on actual Christmas day.  Both went wonderfully, spent time with amazing people, ate amazing food, watched amazing movies, haha.  Let me know how your Christmas went!  I’d love to hear about all the yummy food you ate, movies you watched, and if you got anything really special.  Well, today I thought I’d bring you a New Year’s Eve Glam Eye Look.  This was originally supposed to go up yesterday and it is going up later tonight because I’ve been hesitant to post this.  Anytime I do a type of tutorial post I’m always leery.  Mostly because I’m not a makeup artists, I don’t specialize in makeup, and I don’t feel as if it is worthy of sharing, do you know what I mean?  Then I thought, fuck it.  Everyone starts somewhere and not everyone is looking for the same kind of look offered on YouTube.  So here it is, my New Year’s Eve Glam.  So if you are interested, just keep on reading! | New Year's Eve Glam Eye Look

For this look, I knew there was going to be fallout so I wanted to do my eyes first.  As you can see, my brows are already done, I used a bit of concealer as my primer and set it with a powder close to my skin tone.

The palette I decided to pull out of my collection for this look is the Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions Palette.  Starting out, I took a bit of this warm camel shade and worked that into the crease with a fluffy brush.

Next I took the midtone, almost cool toned brown and worked that into the crease with a fluffy brush.  Don’t mind the skipping on my inner half, that happens with every single shadow, I have a weird inner part on both of my eyes.

Taking the darker brown and a smaller crease brush, I focus this shade more on my outer corner and outer half of my crease.

Taking the black on a small crease brush, I focus this shade on the outer corner of my eye.

Taking the more taupey silver shade, using my finger, I press that shade from the inner corner to the edge of the center of my lid. | New Year's Eve Glam Eye Look

Before taking a bit more of the black, I wanted to add a bit more sparkle to my look.  So I grabbed my Urban Decay Heavy Metal Liner in the shade GLAM ROCK.  I painted that all over my lid and then let it dry for a few minutes. Once dry,  I picked up a bit more of the black and gently dabbed it on the outer corner and blended the edges just a smidge.

Then to help blend everything together, I picked up more of that warm camel shade and blended it over everything.

After I cleaned up the fallout, did the rest of my face makeup, I went back to finish up the eyes.  On the inner rim of my eyes, I used a black pencil liner and lined both the upper and lower waterline.  Then I took that dark brown out of the palette and smoked that on my lower lash line.

To finish up the eyes, I just coated my lashes with a little bit of mascara and called it good.  You can absolutely do a winged liner with this look or even add lashes to enhance this eye look further.  You do you boo!

And here is the completed look!  For lips, I decided to throw on my Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in the shade TAR PIT. because if you have read my posts for a while, you know how much I love wearing black lipstick!

So that’s it!  That is my New Year’s Eve Glam look that I thought I would share with you!  I actually wore this look to Christmas Eve dinner and plan on wearing it for New Year’s Eve, although I might add lashes, who knows?!  Hopefully this was easy enough to follow, I’m still new to this whole tutorial thing and hopefully, the pics were clean enough.  You just gotta use what you got and try to make the best of it!  I hope you guys have a great night and until next time!
