January 2019: Refresh Weigh-In

Hello, hello, hello gang.  Told you I’d be back this evening with my first post for my Fitness Journey.  We are going to get super personal and up close with pictures, measurements, and goals for the month.  Now, I’m going to say this because I need to say this.  This is my journey, I’m not here telling you how to go about yours. I’m not a doctor, nutritionist, or a personal trainer.  I am going on this journey and figuring out what works best for me without starving myself, over straining myself, or making myself miserable.  This is not a diet, this is truly a lifestyle change and adjustment.  What works for me might or might not work for you.  We are all different, all individuals.  You do you boo!  Now, let’s get on with this business!

Original Start Date: July 7, 2017
Original Start Weight: 242.6 lbs
Refresh Start Date: January 1, 2019
Refresh Start Weight: 219.2 lbs
Current Weight Loss: 23.4 lbs

There it is y’all, my current weight.  At one point I managed to get down to 202.6 lbs, losing a total of 40 pounds but unfortunately, I gained back almost 18 pounds since August, the bulk of it since meeting my boyfriend.  You know how it goes, just starting out, eating out more, yadda, yadda, yadda.  It’s time to start holding myself accountable again, go back to being active, watch my portion sizes, and aim for 1600-1800 calories, more on my more active days.  To help with that, I use the My Fitness Pal app.  I’ve used it for the past couple of years and love it.

So, moving on, here are 4 goals for the month:
1. Restart Couch to 5k Training Program, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
2. Instead of focusing on counting calories this month, focus on portion control.
3. Drink 1 liter of water a day.
4. Aim for losing 5 pounds this month.

I think those are easy enough, however, everything is always easier said than done.  I will do my best though to stay positive and strong through this.  Luckily, I have a very loving and supportive boyfriend who loves me just the way I am but supports my decision to get fit and healthy.  He’s pretty great.  Anywho, on to the measurements!

January 1, 2019: Measurements
Neck: 14.5 inches
Left Arm: 16.25 inches
Right Arm: 16.75 inches
Chest: 39.5 inches
Waist: 38.25 inches
Hips: 46.5 inches
Left Thigh: 27.5 inches
Right Thigh: 27.75 inches
Left Calf: 18 inches
Right Calf: 17.75 inches
Current Jean Size: Levi’s Women Size 12 (and it is a bit tight)

That’s it, this is the start of my refresh for my fitness journey for 2019.  I just need to take it 5 pounds and one day at a time.  I didn’t gain all of this weight overnight, I’ve been overweight since I was around 8 years old.  There’s going to be further relearning of proper eating and portion control, getting back into the groove of working out, and making a shit ton of mistakes.  I will leave you with a few before photos of myself, including pictures taken today for progress photos sake.  I hope you guys have a great night and until next time!

Back in 2006, around 240 lbs

Me back in the late 2000’s, I think around 2008-ish.  I managed to get down to around 165 lbs.  Still not at my goal, but I got close.

Terrible pictures, but this was the start of my fitness journey, July 7, 2017.

Again, terrible pictures, but this was the front view to the start of my fitness journey, July 7, 2017.

And here I am now, January 1, 2019.

2019 Refresh: Goals/Resolutions | 2019 Refresh

Hey gang and HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Here we are, after me saying almost every freaking post how fast the year flew by, today is January 1, 2019.  I swear the older I have become, the quicker the years pass.  2018 was quite a great year for me.  I completed my first 1/2 marathon with my best friend, I’ve become more stable financially, today is my 1-year vegetarian anniversary, I started transitioning my collection to be Cruelty-Free, and I met my wonderful boyfriend to name just a few.  Yep, 2018 was a wonderful year and I’m so grateful of the growth I made.  2019 I can feel will be even better.  Now I know so many people put forth goals or resolutions for the new year, but considering I did stick with most of them this past year I’m ready to commit to new goals!  So if that is something you’d be interested in, just keep on reading!

1. Lose 60 pounds by December 31, 2019.
Now before you roll your eyes, hear me out.  I’ve been on a “fitness journey” the last year and a half.  July 7, 2017, I quit smoking and started making subtle changes to my diet and began working out.  Since then I managed to lose 40 pounds, however, I have gained 15 pounds back because I have been inconsistent.  I let my lazy side rear it’s ugly head again and have slipped up on staying consistent with moving my body and watching my portion sizes.  With it being the new year, I feel refreshed, even though yes it is just another day, but it does wonders for my mind.  I decided to throw out the number 60 because I feel losing 5 pounds a month is achievable as long as I stay consistent.  I gave myself a deadline to help push it as more of a priority in my mind, in hopes of me staying diligent and keeping to my deadline like it was an important project due for work.  Here are some steps I plan on incorporating in order to achieve this goal:

  • Aiming for 1600 to 1800 calories a day, really focusing on portion controlling and having snacks to help curb hunger throughout the day
  • I want to give intermittent fasting a try again for the month of January.  I’ve done it before and it really seemed to help me a lot.  I didn’t suffer from any negative side effects.
  • Start back up the Couch to 5k Program, doing that every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Once I get into the groove of that, making it a habit and staying consistent, I would like to add strength training on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s in the future to help build muscle.
  • Quit drinking sodas.  I actually quit drinking sodas and it did wonders for my migraines but then I gave in, drank a few and got hooked right back on them.  I was drinking almost 2 liters of water a day then went right back to soda.  That shit has got to go.
  • I want to start incorporating more leafy greens and fruits into my diet.  I need to make sure I’m getting plenty of vitamins and minerals.
  • Plan out my meals and snacks, so that way I’m not as tempted to order out or go and pick something up.  When I menu planned and meal prepped, it made a tremendous difference in my fitness journey and wallet!
  • Aiming for a little bit of a higher protein lower carb way of eating.  No, not Keto or Low Carb or any of that shit.  I tend to eat a lot of processed carbs, I am such a carb girl, so I want to cut back on pasta, bread, things of that nature because it is used more like a filler but is not very filling.  I want to add more good carbs into my diet via fruits and vegetables.
  • Help hold myself accountable again by posting once a month here with how I’m doing, progress photos, discuss my successes and setbacks.

I’ve learned the more you have your goals actually planned out and broken down, the more likely you are going to achieve that goal.  Hence why there are so many bullet points, haha.  Also, this is just a rough goal.  I’ve never been a fit or healthy size so all of this is new to me.  Once I start losing weight, if I need to reevaluate goals, I will do so.

2. Train for the 2019 Rock and Roll Seattle Half Marathon.
Now, I don’t know if I am actually going to do it again, but I thought if I make it a goal, break it down, it will help me with my weight loss goal and help me with an incomplete goal from last year, which was to become a runner.  Several bullet points from the previous goal also coincide with this goal, so this is almost like a repeat, but I’ll still go over them anyway.

  • Start Couch to 5k Training Program, doing it every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  After I complete the program, continue on running every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, then add in a Saturday morning run to help me work up for my mileage.
  • Start practicing Yoga or Pilates.  Once I’ve gotten into the groove of working out, making it a habit, staying consistent, and after I started incorporating strength training, I’d like to incorporate at least one session a week of either yoga or pilates.  Stretching is very important in general, I should be doing it now at least because of my job, but unfortunately, I do not.
  • Drink lots of water!  This does coincide with my quit drinking sodas.  I got up to drinking 2 liters of water a day then got hooked back on sodas.  Water helps the muscles and joints be more limber, gives you a glowing complexion, and is all around wonderful.  We all know this.  Yet, I’m terrible at drinking water. | 2019 Refresh

3. Read at least 1 Self-Improvement Book a Month.
The end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, I was reading.  By mid to end of 2018 I had almost stopped reading.  Self-Improvement books really helped give me an additional push and spark to work towards my goals, my wants, and my desires.  Yes, everything was in me all along, but having something physical to read and be able to go back to and reference really helped me focus, so I definitely want to get back to that.

  • To find more books, I’m going to do some internet searching, then read reviews on Amazon.  Then, I’ll try and find them on or at my local library.  I prefer to purchase them because I love being able to highlight or go back and read a chapter over later on if I need an extra boost.
  • I do have a nightstand next to my bed.  When I keep the current book at my bedside where I lay my phone, it helps me remember and I’m more likely to read it.
  • If I aim for about 2 chapters a night, one book a month shouldn’t be a problem.

And that’s it!  Yep, just three goals for this year.  Of course, there is so much more that I would love to do and achieve this year, but these are my priorities.  These are what will make the greatest impact which will hopefully trickle down into my smaller goals that are more on the back burner for right now.  Through all of these, one thing I failed to mention was having a planner.  It’s taken me a bit of getting used to having one and truly utilizing it.  I got my first one mid-2017 that I used off and on, a full one for 2018 that I used more frequently, and a brand spanking new one (pictured above) that I’m already working through, writing things down, and strategizing.  It’s helping me focus on tasks that I need to get done for the day so that way I’m not twiddling my thumbs and wasting time.  I’d love to hear about what goals you have for the upcoming year and how you plan to achieve them!  Were you successful on any goals you made last year?  Let me know in the comments!  Later tonight I am going to be posting my starting point for my fitness journey.  Like I said, I’m holding myself accountable again.  Well, I hope you guys have a great day and I will talk to you again soon!

Current Loves & Life Update

Hey lovelies, hope all is going well on this fine Wednesday where ever you are.  Today, I thought I would share some products that I’ve been loving lately from shopping my stash and some life updates since I’ve been so inconsistent with my posts.  First off, how are all of you?  What’s been happening with you all?  If you live in America or celebrate American Thanksgiving, can you believe it is next week?  I am not ready!  Although, I am ready to eat some delicious foods!  Anyway, let’s get on with it!

Currently, I’ve been working on the FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Foundation mixing it with the C.Y.O. Long-Lasting Lifeproof Foundation.  I really love the combination, the finish, and wear time.  However, with it finally being fall up here in Seattle heading into winter, the FLOWER foundation is running too dark, even mixing it with the C.Y.O. foundation.  So, I’ve pulled out my Fiona Stiles Matte Finish Foundation Concentrate and boy do I NEVER want to part from it.  Unfortunately, I’m not 100% sure if Fiona Stiles is a cruelty-free brand.  So, I’m just going to be cherishing this bad boy.

The next product is my Anastasia Beverly Hills SUBCULTURE Palette.  Yes, yes, the ever so controversial ABH palette.  I love my palette.  As you can clearly see.  The pan for Roxy may be empty, but I still have it.  I just mixed it with a peach shade to make a FrankenBlush.  However, I still have great pan in Dawn & Mercury.  The look I’ve been wearing with this palette gives me such fall vibes.  I’ve been taking a mixture of New Wave & Edge into the crease, then taking a touch of Mercury & Fudge into the crease but more concentrated.  Then running those colors along my lower lash line.  Probably one of my favorite looks that I’ve pulled out from this palette.

Another product I’ve pulled out from my collection and can’t put it down is my Essence Pure Nude Highlighter in 01 Be My Highlight.  Oh my gosh, I truly forgot how beautiful this highlighter is on my skin.  When I’ve seen videos by Charlotte Tilbury talking about her Film Star Bronze & Glow Contour Palette and talking about how the highlight gives the skin a soft candlelight glow, that’s what I think of for this highlighter on my skin tone.  And it was less than $5.  Seriously, I just want to bathe in this highlighter.  Is that possible?

One makeup item that I never thought I would truly see a difference, let alone be obsessed with is a setting spray.  Honestly, most setting sprays I have used tend to give the same effect, do the same thing.  However, Taylor raved about the Catrice Prime and Fine Dewy Glow Setting Spray and holy shitzies.  Makeup game changing.  So much so that I currently have 4 backups.  It melts all of the powders together so beautifully and gives such a dewy, healthy finish, it looks like I’m not wearing face makeup.  Good Lord, love, love, love!

Lastly is a lip product.  I’ve really missed wearing black lipstick.  Black lipstick has always been my jam, so much so that I own several different black lip products.  However, the one I have been reaching for the most is my Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in Tar Pit.  Hands down the best black liquid lipstick formula I have found.  It is not drying on the lips and super comfortable.  The wear time is pretty good as well!

Now onto what’s been going on/new with me and the girls.  Work wise, nothing too crazy has been going on.  It is starting to pick up again with the holiday’s approaching.  Both the girls are doing well.  Lillith’s skin is finally healing up a bit moving from the heat of the summer to the coolness of winter.  Poor thing, it’s almost like she is allergic to life.

For me, personal life has been amazing.  I actually finally found someone which is insane for me to say.  I’ve been single for about 7 1/2 years.  Yes, you read that correctly, 7 and a half years.  I haven’t been intimate with anyone in over 5 years.  I have been focusing on myself, bettering myself, figuring out my priorities.  I finally decided that I wanted to get back into the game and I instantly found him.  How similar we are and how many “coincidences” there are between us, is almost uncanny.  Love at first sight, for sure, even though I never thought that would happen to me.

End of April we are planning on moving in together and in about a year or two, we plan on moving to Texas.  We have also been planning a few other things, but we are just taking our time and just going to go with the flow of how everything pans out.  He’s so wonderful and I have never been treated like this before.  Makes me realize I have only ever dated boys and not a man.  I definitely don’t regret my previous relationships because I wouldn’t be where and who I am today without the past shaping me.

So other than that, everything else has been going great.  Being in this relationship has been tricky just in finding a balance, figuring out how to fit all of my “before him” activities and duties to coincide well with him.  Do you know what I mean?

Well, I think I have blabbered on enough, wouldn’t you say?  Now I would like to hear from you guys!  What have you been up to lately?  What products have you rediscovered in your collection and have been loving?  Is there anything new and exciting going on in your personal life?  Let me know in the comments!  Thank you so much for stopping by and until next time!

What I’ve Been Into.

d with VSCO with c6 preset

Hey guys and welcome back!  I don’t know about you, but I’m not the biggest fan of monthly favorites posts or videos.  Most of the time, people have been trying products out for a month if that, then talking about their favorites and then do it again for the next month, never hearing about the previous products again.  Now, that’s not a terrible thing and if you love those types of posts, power to you!  For me, however, I enjoy favorites posts about products people have been using for a while and continue to use, do you know what I mean?  Today, I thought I would share some products that I have really been enjoying for a while now and this isn’t just going to be about makeup.  I thought I would share movies I’ve been enjoying, music, fragrances, and makeup.  So if you are interested, just keep on reading!

Should I start with makeup?  Yeah, let’s start with makeup.  Now, I don’t try a shit ton of makeup or buy a shit ton of makeup to test out, but I have been shopping my stash and rediscovering products.  One of those products is the Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter in Sin ($26 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link).  On Ulta’s website, it is described as a pale nude with a gold shift.  I forgot how much I enjoy this highlighter.  I don’t get it to the point where it is super blinding, I’m more into a natural, lit-from-within type of glow, but it reminds me so much of my Anastasia Beverly Hills Starlight Illuminator that’s been discontinued.  I’ve pulled it out recently again to use with my August Makeup Basket but forgot to add it to my post.

The second makeup item is my EM Cosmetics True Gloss in Truffle Haze ($17 US Regular Link).  This gloss is absolutely beautiful, feels hydrating and comfortable on the lips.  It is also not sticky, which I love.  Now, I don’t wear this to work, because that is asking for a disaster to happen (dog hair stuck to my lip the entire day, um no thank you).  However, I have been wearing this almost every day that I’m off of work on top of whatever lip product I am wearing (although, not on top of my black lipsticks lol).  Such a beautiful, beautiful gloss.

Last makeup item I’m going to talk about is my Kat Von D Signature Brow Precision Pencil in Graphite ($20 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link).  Spoiler alert for my 13 by Halloween Project Pan, I finished off my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Ebony ($21 US Affiliate Link | Regular Link), so I have been using this nonstop all month.  I’ve used it a little bit before but stopped in order to finish my brow wiz.  I didn’t think I would love this so much, but I really do.  The shape is perfect for getting hair like strokes and the formula is creamy enough to easily get pigment on your brow, but not too creamy to wear I think I am going to add too much product to my brows.  I would definitely agree that I can achieve the micro-bladed look with this product!

That’s it for the makeup portion.  Like I said previously, I really want to hone in on products that I have been enjoying, not just throwing something on here for the sake of throwing something on here.  Now onto everything else.

For music, what’s been on repeat on my phone has been Love Lies by Khalid & Normani, Apeshit by The Carters, Natural by Imagine Dragons, Cry Little Sister by Marilyn Manson, Go to War by Nothing More, Sin Pijama by Becky G & Natti Natasha, and Love is Madness by Thirty Seconds to Mars ft. Halsey.  As you can see, I tend to listen to a wide range of music.  These have all been played on repeat so many times, it’s almost ridiculous.

For movies, I haven’t gone out and seen anything new.  Although, I did see Deadpool 2 in theaters when it first came out (funnier than hell mind you), but at home, I’ve been watching Jaws 3 and Maximum Overdrive on Amazon Prime Video nonstop, and on Netflix watching Blackway and Se7en (my all time favorite movie).  For shows, I’m not a huge show watcher, unless of course we are talking about Hannibal, but I have been rewatching season 1 and 2 of Queer Eye quite often on Netflix.  Damn, if you ever need a good cry, Queer Eye delivers!

So that does it for things I’ve been into lately.  I would really love to hear about some things that you’ve really been into lately, what songs have you been playing on repeat?  Or what makeup have you really been gravitating to?  Let me know in the comments!  I don’t plan to do this kind of post often because like I’ve said, I don’t buy a shit ton of makeup and I’m also a creature of habit when it comes to movies and music.  But every few months or so is what I’m thinking.  Anyway, thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read this and until next time!

Popping My Half Marathon Cherry: Rock N Roll Seattle 2018

Well, it has definitely been a hot minute since I posted anything.  11 days to be exact.  Honestly, mental health wasn’t the best, wasn’t motivated or inspired to do anything.  Thursday night however definitely boosted my spirits.  My best friend since high school flew up to help me make it through my very first Half Marathon.  That’s right ladies and gentlemen, a half marathon, 13.1 miles of grueling awesomeness.  Yes, contradictory, I get it.  BUT if you have done one, does that not sum it up well?

Last Friday was the Expo.  To start the day off right, we went to the Wayward Vegan Cafe in Seattle.  It’s been YEARS since I’ve been there.  Location changed, but the food was still just as delicious as before.  I ordered the Country Fried Seitan and oh my God, it was to DIE FOR!!  After we were both done stuffing our faces, we headed out in the wonderful Seattle traffic (sarcasm folks) and made it to the expo.  It was not as overwhelming as I anticipated, huge plus there, but there were so many glorious vendors, we got samples of everything!  My bestie showed me the ropes on how to work and go through an expo for maximum sample carnage.  Okay, a bit much, but oh well.  Cliff Bars, Bulletproof Coffee, temporary tattoos and FIELD ROAST!  I was beyond excited for a good amount of vegetarian and vegan options for samples, including Quorn, Field Roast, and Cliff Bars.  I also grabbed a sample of vegan gummy bears, but for the life of me, I can’t find them.  Sad face.

We walked around for a bit, just sampling away, looking at items for purchase.  Unfortunately, I got there a little too late to pick up the 13.1 sticker for my car, but I did pick up a shit.  When you sign up, just in case you don’t know, you do get a shirt.  You pick it up after you have grabbed your packet and bib at the front.  However, I wanted another proudly showcasing the mileage.

There was a fun little photo booth that my bestie and I took some photos in and Toyota was there offering a virtual ride in a car through a race.  Super cool.  We found the track we were going to be doing.  I will say, didn’t look as daunting on flat paper as it was in person.  Just going to leave it at that!  The rest of the evening we pretty much relaxed, watched some Netflix and tried, TRIED mind you, to go to be early.

Now onto race day!  I set my alarm for 4:15am because on our parking pass, it said we needed to be parked by 6:00am.  So I showered, shaved, walked the girls, and got ready for the event.  My bestie KT taped my right knee for me, we both downed some Immodium and headed downtown.  Traffic was very light and we were parked right at 6:00am.

We made sure to use the bathroom one last time and headed to our designated corral.  I was put in the last corral, 20, and my bestie was placed in the same one as me, thanks to the lovely people at the expo.

There were so many people and it felt electric.  I realize that sounds a bit corny or cheesy, but honestly, that is the only way I could describe it.  Everyone was here to do something crazy, walk or run 13.1 miles.

The race originally started around 6:30am.  The time our corral made it to the front it was about 7:10am and the blowhorn sounded, marking the beginning of our corral.  The first few miles were pretty easy, I was walking and jogging what I could.  By around mile 5, my left hip started hurting.  Go figure right, the one area I have never had a problem with before, started acting up.  My knee was doing great though, so yay KT tape!

By mile 9, my hip was extremely painful.  By 11 I was in an immense amount of pain.  It almost felt like someone was taking a pick to my bone every time I put my left foot down.  However, I kept going.  Kept on keeping on.  My feet hurt and I was sore all over, but I could tolerate that.  The hip was what was absolutely killing me.  You bet your ass however that I was not going to let that stop me.

By mile 12 I wanted to burn down Seattle and everyone in it.  I wanted rains of fire pouring from the heaven decimating everything in sight.  I was in pain, fucking miserable, wondering why the FUCK would someone sign up to do this stupid shit.  I wanted to scream and cry, but my stubborn ass refused to do that shit.  But I kept hobbling.  Oh yes, hobbling.  I could barely walk by mile 12.  At one point, I turned a corner, saw a band playing and thought, Halle-fucking-lujah the end!  But it wasn’t.  That’s when I cursed out loud, “Are you fucking kidding me?!?!”

But, I kept going.  I finally saw the finish line and I smiled. I hobbled over that line, making it about 4 hours and 10 minutes for me to complete my first half marathon, and I picked up my very first medal.  For once in my life, I fucking completed something.

It took over an hour to rest for a bit and hobble to my car.  Sitting for a bit, eating some hummus and a protein bar directly after, then having to take breaks between hobbles because my hip was in excruciating pain.  I picked up Taco Bell on the way back to my house and when we reached my house, I hobbled one step at a time up the stairs, then collapsed on my chair and ripped off my shoes and socks.  I was bleeding on my left foot, forgot to trim my toenails, and only had one blister!  Although, a couple of days later learned I had a blister under my toenail on my right big toe, as in directly under my toenail.

So after all of that, being sore and in pain for almost 4 solid days after the marathon, would I do it again?

Abso-fucking-lutely.  I always laughed or wondered at the running memes of runners and marathons.  Saying something along the lines of, if you do one, you want to do them always.  Now, I can’t at the moment say yes to always, but I am already planning to do the Seattle Half Marathon and the Las Vegas Half Marathon next year.  I have learned so much from “training” for this half marathon, that I know a bit more of what I need to do to improve.  I have just about a year till the next Seattle Rock N Roll Half Marathon and my time goal is 3 hours and 30 minutes.  I proved to myself I am fully capable of anything.

I’m getting back on track with my eating, worked out a plan for running and strength training, and am ready to take on this next challenge.  I can’t thank my bestie enough, because she was with me, pushed me, and supported me.  I have hung my bib and medal on my vision board to further motivate and inspire me.  So here’s to the Seattle Rock N Roll Half Marathon 2019!

The Score at Neptune Theater in Seattle

Like most, music is a big part of my life.  I listen to music every single day, several times a day.  Over a year ago, I discovered The Score, a band based out of Los Angeles and I have been hooked ever since on them.  You need motivational music that you can move to?  Look no further than The Score.  When they offered their first actual album (mind you, they have EP’s which I do have) available for pre-sale, you bet your ass I ordered it.   So, the only thing I had been waiting for is for them to go on tour, hitting near the Seattle area.  Finally, FINALLY, it happened on Saturday.  They were one of the opening acts for Echosmith, Inside a Dream Tour.  Let me tell you, well worth the wait!  They did not disappoint!

*Setting up the equipment.  Eddie on the guitar and Edan is in the white shirt.

They opened up with one of my favorite songs off the new album, Who I Am.  “Take me as I am or don’t, cause I don’t give a damn no. I have my flaws, I make mistakes.  But I’m myself, I’m not ashamed.  That’s who I am, oh, that’s who I am, oh, that’s who I am, oh.  I have my doubts, I lose my strength.  Sometimes I fall, but I don’t break.  That’s who I am, oh, that’s who I am, oh, that’s who I am, oh.

Some other songs included Revolution, Unstoppable, Strange, as well as Miracle (another strong favorite) and Higher.  Of course, they couldn’t forget to play one of their more known and popular songs, Legend!  “Blood, sweat, I’ll break my bones, ’till all my scars bleed golden.  My name’s forever known, bang, bang, won’t stop till we’re legends!

Overall, it was so much fun.  They brought so much energy to the stage and absolutely killed it.  After their set was over, the headed to the merch booth to do some meet & greet.  I picked up a shirt as well as a poster.  They were kind enough to sign my ticket (something I tend to have signed if I ever meet a band) and my poster.  Eddie even commented on liking my AC/DC shirt, but let’s be real, who doesn’t love AC/DC?  They were both super nice and Edan kindly took a picture of all three of us (thank the lord for tall guys with long arms).  The crazy thing to all of this, I wasn’t even sure I was actually going to go.  I started getting major anxiety thinking about driving downtown Seattle, trying to find parking, not getting lost.  You know, the stereotypical “Hi, I’m your mind, let me tell you all the ways this could go wrong!”  In the end, I told my mind to shut the fuck up lol and remembered when I was a teenager and in my younger twenties, how I would travel across the state (Texas) by myself with NO GPS to a concert.  I wasn’t going to allow my mind to win that war.  Parking wasn’t terrible nor pricey, I didn’t get lost once, and I had an absolute blast!  I can’t wait for them to come back up here again (hopefully sooner, rather than later).  If you haven’t listened to them, I highly recommend!  My absolute favorite song from them is Believe.  There are days that my mind gets away from me and I will listen to that song on repeat to help bring me back.  Well, I guess that is enough for now.  Thanks for stopping by and until next time!
