New Year’s Eve Glam Eye Look | New Year's Eve Glam Eye Look

Hey gang, how’s it going?  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, you spent it either with loved ones or relaxing alone.  As I mentioned previously, I did one Christmas this past Saturday with my boyfriend and his son and then another on actual Christmas day.  Both went wonderfully, spent time with amazing people, ate amazing food, watched amazing movies, haha.  Let me know how your Christmas went!  I’d love to hear about all the yummy food you ate, movies you watched, and if you got anything really special.  Well, today I thought I’d bring you a New Year’s Eve Glam Eye Look.  This was originally supposed to go up yesterday and it is going up later tonight because I’ve been hesitant to post this.  Anytime I do a type of tutorial post I’m always leery.  Mostly because I’m not a makeup artists, I don’t specialize in makeup, and I don’t feel as if it is worthy of sharing, do you know what I mean?  Then I thought, fuck it.  Everyone starts somewhere and not everyone is looking for the same kind of look offered on YouTube.  So here it is, my New Year’s Eve Glam.  So if you are interested, just keep on reading! | New Year's Eve Glam Eye Look

For this look, I knew there was going to be fallout so I wanted to do my eyes first.  As you can see, my brows are already done, I used a bit of concealer as my primer and set it with a powder close to my skin tone.

The palette I decided to pull out of my collection for this look is the Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions Palette.  Starting out, I took a bit of this warm camel shade and worked that into the crease with a fluffy brush.

Next I took the midtone, almost cool toned brown and worked that into the crease with a fluffy brush.  Don’t mind the skipping on my inner half, that happens with every single shadow, I have a weird inner part on both of my eyes.

Taking the darker brown and a smaller crease brush, I focus this shade more on my outer corner and outer half of my crease.

Taking the black on a small crease brush, I focus this shade on the outer corner of my eye.

Taking the more taupey silver shade, using my finger, I press that shade from the inner corner to the edge of the center of my lid. | New Year's Eve Glam Eye Look

Before taking a bit more of the black, I wanted to add a bit more sparkle to my look.  So I grabbed my Urban Decay Heavy Metal Liner in the shade GLAM ROCK.  I painted that all over my lid and then let it dry for a few minutes. Once dry,  I picked up a bit more of the black and gently dabbed it on the outer corner and blended the edges just a smidge.

Then to help blend everything together, I picked up more of that warm camel shade and blended it over everything.

After I cleaned up the fallout, did the rest of my face makeup, I went back to finish up the eyes.  On the inner rim of my eyes, I used a black pencil liner and lined both the upper and lower waterline.  Then I took that dark brown out of the palette and smoked that on my lower lash line.

To finish up the eyes, I just coated my lashes with a little bit of mascara and called it good.  You can absolutely do a winged liner with this look or even add lashes to enhance this eye look further.  You do you boo!

And here is the completed look!  For lips, I decided to throw on my Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in the shade TAR PIT. because if you have read my posts for a while, you know how much I love wearing black lipstick!

So that’s it!  That is my New Year’s Eve Glam look that I thought I would share with you!  I actually wore this look to Christmas Eve dinner and plan on wearing it for New Year’s Eve, although I might add lashes, who knows?!  Hopefully this was easy enough to follow, I’m still new to this whole tutorial thing and hopefully, the pics were clean enough.  You just gotta use what you got and try to make the best of it!  I hope you guys have a great night and until next time!

12 Pans of Christmas Project Pan: FINALE!

Hey gang and Merry Christmas Eve to you all, or to all those who celebrate it.  We are finally here, the finale to my 12 Pans of Christmas Project Pan.  I can’t believe how quickly we got here.  It feels like just yesterday I was posting the intro and here I am with the finale.  Well, I will try and keep this post short and sweet, unlike my previous novel posts, haha.  So, if you are interested to see how I did, then just keep reading!

Before we jump into the last few products I was working on, I’m going to go over the products that I finished or hit my goal on.  On the first update I finished the Milani Make It Dewy Setting Spray, I hit pan in both MERCURY & DAWN in my Anastasia Beverly Hills SUBCULTURE Palette, and finish my Kat Von D Beauty Signature Brow Precision Pencil in GRAPHITE.

For the last update, I finished the shades LYRIC & LUCID from the Kat Von D Beauty Shade & Light Contour Palette and hit goal of hitting major pan in SOMBRE.  I also managed to accidentally finish off the ELF Instant Lift Brow Pencil in Soft Brown.  Now onto the rest of the products in this project! | Jeffree Star Cosmetics Lip Ammunition in CELEBRITY SKIN

First, let’s talk about my Jeffree Star Cosmetics Lip Ammunition Lipstick in CELEBRITY SKIN.  I am happy to report I have finished it and this is the first lipstick I have EVER panned!  This is a huge accomplishment for me!  As I stated in the last update, I will not repurchase this item.  The shade wasn’t what I was personally looking for in my ideal nude and the formula was a bit drying on me. | Michael Kors Sexy Amber 3.4 FL OZ Perfume

Next is my Michael Kors Sexy Amber 3.4 FL OZ Perfume and this is also completely used up!  This is also another first for me, well, for the size anyway.  I have finished body mists this size before and have finished 1 OZ perfumes in the past, but never a fragrance of this magnitude.  This use to be a holy grail scent for me then I fell out of love with it.  Hence why it was sitting in my collection for so long.  I’ve been trying to make myself use it throughout the year, but putting it in this project has been a tremendous help!  It also helped me fall back in love with the scent.  Sadly, Michael Kors is not cruelty-free therefore I shall not be repurchasing. | Besame Cosmetics Vanilla Brightening Powder

Another finished product off this list is my Besame Cosmetics Vanilla Brightening Powder.  I am not a fan of loose powders.  I have finally, finally learned and realized that about myself.  I was not reaching for this powder until I got the idea to press it into an empty compact, hence the Rimmel compact.  I really ended up enjoying this product to where I might actually repurchase and just press it into a pan.  I’m working on some other powders right now, but if I can’t find anything that is comparable, I will repurchase this product.  It looked beautiful under my eyes and set all over. | C.Y.O. Long-Lasting Foundation & FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Foundation

Since we are talking about face products, let’s move onto the two foundations I threw in this project.  The C.Y.O. Long-Lasting Lifeproof Foundation in 101 and the FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Luminous Makeup in L2.  I’m happy to say I made my goal for the C.Y.O. Foundation, I just wanted to be over halfway done with it.  The FLOWER foundation I came very close to my goal.  I wanted to have about 1/4 of the bottle left but I’m around 1/3.  But hey, I’ll take that as a win because I have managed to use up quite a bit of this foundation!  I also mentioned, even though I love the C.Y.O. foundation, it is holy grail status for me, I wouldn’t be repurchasing until I could verify if it is cruelty-free or not.  Ethical Bunny has them listed as cruelty-free, so unless something says otherwise, I’m going to trust that.

Next up is the Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal Pencil in 005 NUDE.  Seriously, there is a miniscule amount of progress.  Literally, barely any progress.  Here’s the thing, I wear makeup about 6 days week.  I am pretty consistent about that.  I wear this pencil in my waterline 23 out of the 24 times I wear makeup in one month.  I mean, talk about ultimate bang for your buck!  So even though I have made much visible progress, I am happy about it.

Last up is a product that I have not touched.  Well, maybe once.  I’m talking about my Melt Cosmetics Lipstick in LACED.  Just for shit and giggles, I held it up against my paper, low and behold no progress.  As I’m typing up this post, I’m wearing it and here is what I finally learned.  I hate this formula.  The color, love it!  This formula though is so drying on my lips, my lips actually peel and I can wear quite a few drying liquid lip products and not have this happen.  So, I am going to be decluttering this item.  There is going to be an end of the year declutter, refreshing for 2019 so be on the lookout for that and don’t be surprised when you see this product there.

So that’s it gang, my second project pan of the year that I actually stuck with!  I have one more finale coming up at the end of the year, which now that I think of it, I should be posting that on Friday.  Anywho, I want to know if you also participated in the 12 Pans of Christmas Project Pan and if you did, what your successes were with the project!  And on a quick side note, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, I hope you are spending it with people (or animals) you love.  Sending you all lots of love and joy!  Merry Christmas everyone!!

REVIEW: Dose of Colors – Lip Products

Hey gang and Happy Friday!  Christmas is right around the corner, only a few more days away, hope you are all ready for it if you celebrate it and I hope you don’t have to do any more shopping!  James and I are celebrating Christmas this weekend because his son is going to be over, so I am definitely looking forward to that!  They’ll be over shortly.  But that’s not what we are here to talk about today.  Today I’m giving some lip swatches and a review of the current lip products in my collection by Dose of Colors.  So if that is something you think you might be interested in, just keep on reading!

Lip It Up Satin Lipsticks | Dose of Colors Mickey Collection Lip It Up Satin Lipstick in FOREVER
Currently, I only have one in my collection.  It is apart of the Mickey Mouse Collection in the shade FOREVER.  I’ve worn this shade a few times now and overall it is a nice formula, however, I don’t feel it is worth the price.  The outer packaging is beautiful and looking at the other permanent shades that are available, that packaging is also beautiful.  It is just a bit tricky to apply the cap.  The product does not roll down, so if you are not careful you can easily divot into the product and possibly break off the product.  Like I previously mentioned, the formula is nice but nothing revolutionary that I feel can’t be found at the drugstore.

Lip Gloss | Dose of Colors Mickey Collection Lip Gloss in One & Only | Dose of Colors Mickey Collection Lip Gloss in Rockin' It
Unlike the lipstick, these I feel are absolutely worth the price.  Both shades that I picked up were also from the Mickey Mouse Collection, ROCKIN’ IT and ONE & ONLY, both cool toned nude glosses.  Jessica from JamBeauty89 has raved about these and for good reason!  If you read my post on My Most Loved Products of 2018, you will know that the EM Cosmetics True Gloss changed the game for me in regards to glosses.  Before that gloss, you would not catch gloss in my collection.  This formula reminds me so much of the EM Cosmetics True Gloss, it is a more gel-like consistency, not super heavy on the lips, and NOT STICKY!  Hallelujah!  These two shades are pretty opaque but layer on top of other lip products beautifully!  Did I mention they smell like frosting??  Oh my gosh, it is heavenly!

Matte Liquid Lipsticks | Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick in DESERT SUEDE | Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick in CORK | Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick in LOS ANJEALOUS
This is where it is going to get tricky.  Dose of Colors makes my favorite liquid lipstick formula, well, on a couple of shades.  I currently own 5 different permanent shades.  DESERT SUEDE, CORK, MERLOT, EXTRA SAUCY, and LOS ANJEALOUS.  Desert Suede and Cork I have had the longest and the formulas are PERFECT!  They are very comfortable on the lips, very long wearing (they last through doggy kisses), are transfer proof, they don’t crumble or flake, and layer on top of themselves beautifully.  The reds are where I have inconsistencies.  Los Anjealous feels and acts like the same formula as Cork and Desert Suede, Extra Saucy and Merlot I strongly feel are different formulas.  Now, I don’t know if that is due to the fact that they are more richer reds, but they are both different formulas, in my opinion. | Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick in EXTRA SAUCY
Extra Saucy is beautiful on the lips, honestly my ideal type of red shade, but it bleeds a little on me and smudges & transfers.  It bums me out so much because I absolutely love this shade.  I purchased it originally for work, I wanted a transfer resistant, long wearing red to wear to work, but sadly I have to fuss with this shade throughout the day, unlike the previous three shades.  I can’t eat with this shade, it collects in the corners of my lips, but I can drink with it, as long as it is through a straw.  It is still comfortable on the lips though. | Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick in MERLOT
The last shade is Merlot and I am not a huge fan of this shade, for several different reasons.  For one, in order to get it to that truer blue-toned red, I have to do two layers.  Which fine, no big deal, however, it makes the formula extra drying.  I’ve noticed, even with one layer of this product, it is drying, but two, dear lord.  Again, I can stand a more drying formula so I could get over that.  This shade also stains the crap out of my lips, which is not something I’ve had a problem with, with the other two reds.  It stains my lips bright pink.  What I forgot to mention is with one layer of this product, it looks a lot more pink than red.  The next problem I have is that it collects in the corners of my lips, then bleeds out around it, then stains my skin.  Not a cute look.  I also have a problem of it bleeding out of my lip line, it transfers really easily, and smudges quite a bit.  Which again, is a problem because it stains my skin and takes forever to get off.  I really wished this shade worked for me, because after two layers I love the red, but sadly, it doesn’t.  For those several reasons, I would not recommend this red.  If you want a good red, go with LOS ANJEALOUS.  It is more muted but has an excellent formula!

Overall, I really love Dose of Colors, I will definitely keep purchasing other shades of the glosses and even though there are some consistencies in the formula with the matte liquid lipsticks, I feel the mid-tone shades are the safest bet on a consistent formula.  I would like to try KNOCK ON WOOD, SAND, CAMPFIRE, and OLD FLAME.  And even though there are definite inconsistencies with the red shades, I want to try one more red shade, that being KISS OF FIRE.  I feel with how off the formula was between the red shades, I’m not confident in the formula for the darker shades.  I feel they might be a bit streaky or have the formula similar to MERLOT just because a lot of other brands tend to have that problem.  If you have tried a darker shade of the matte liquid lipsticks and have had success, please let me know in the comments which shade or shades worked for you, because I really do love the brand and I would love to try the darker shades.

Well gang, I know this was yet another long post.  I’m one of those people that really tries to describe and give as much information as I can to be as helpful as I can be.  With that being said, I hope you found this post somewhat helpful or informative, or just fun.  Who knows!  If you have tried several Dose of Color products before, let me know which ones you’ve loved and which ones you hated.  Also, have any of you tried their eyeshadow formula or highlighter formula?  I am intrigued but feel it has been a bit overhyped due to the Desi and Katy collab.  Maybe I’m wrong, but if you’ve tried them, let me know what you thought!  Okay, I think I have blabbered on long enough!  I hope you guys have a great weekend and we’ll chat again soon!  Until next time!

Holiday Glam: Affordable & All Available at ULTA – NOT SPONSORED | Holiday Glam: Affordable & Available At ULTA

Hey gang! Hope all is well and your Monday went or is going smoothly.  It’s been a great weekend for me.  Alexandria, aka Xandria turned 8 on Saturday (my baby is growing up, my dog for those that don’t know) and I just turned 31 yesterday.  Absolutely blows my mind at how quickly my year 30 went.  Plus we are halfway through December now and less than 10 days away from Christmas.  Hope you are all ready for that!  Anyway, what I am bring you today is a fun, affordable Cranberry Holiday Glam look all available at ULTA and using the Makeup Revolution Emily Edit The Wants Palette, which I believe is finally back in stock.  So, if you are interested to see what I came up with, then just keep on reading!

Please Note: This post DOES contain affiliate links but it is NOT sponsored.  Thank you!

Since I’m doing a full glam look, well, let’s say a full glam for me, I decided to do my brows first.  If you have read any of my previous posts where I showcase a full look, brows are one of the things I tend to do towards the end.  I was aiming for a more structured, prominent type of brow.  For this, I pulled out the NYX Tame & Frame Tinted Brow Pomade in Black.  If you have tried using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade before and you felt it was a bit too tricky to use, I truly feel you would enjoy this product.  It is less pigmented, so you don’t have to worry about a strong brow quickly which can be hard to blend out, and it is a little less waxy making it a bit easier to maneuver through the brows.  The only downfall I have found is even when using a brow gel, for this look I’m using the NYX Tinted Brow Mascara in Black, it is not as long wearing as the Anastasia Dip Brow. | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA

As you can see in the picture above, they are filled in and have a more crisp edge.  I haven’t cleaned them up yet, but I will discuss that later in the post.

Moving on to the base, not pictured here is primer.  Currently, I’m trying to use up my Milani Prime Shield Mattifying + Pore Filling Primer.  It’s fine, not the most astounding primer ever, but it does a decent job at filling in my pores and mattifying my oily areas.  For foundation, I mixed two foundations.  Obviously you don’t have to do that, but I do have reason for my madness!  Haha, well it’s reasonable in my mind.  The Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation has a wonderful undertone and very matte, too matte for my liking.  The FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Luminous Makeup Foundation is absolutely STUNNING, love, love, love this foundation, HOWEVER, it gets too greasy looking on my skin and is too dark (next time I’m going to grab L1).  So, to get a more ideal finish, I drop out what I feel is roughly a pump of the Catrice foundation and a pump of the FLOWER Beauty foundation and mix them on my palette. | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA

My preferred method of application is to use a damped sponge.  I’m not a fan of apply foundation with a brush, just not my thing.  As you can see from the picture above, the combination gives me a lightly dewy, maybe you could call it Satin finish, and I get a high medium coverage from one layer.  I can’t add more layers of foundation for any brand honestly because then it looks cakey.

Onto concealing and powdering.  This is also where I clean up my brows, moreso underneath the brows with concealer.  For this look, I pulled out the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Conceal & Contour.  I don’t have any full opinions on this product yet, still have been testing it out. | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA

As you can see from the picture above, I’m clearly not joking about the full glam look.  With this product, I did the stereotypical “triangle” shape under my eyes to conceal a bit and highlight the area.  I brought a little down the bridge of my nose, a little on top of my cupid’s bow, a touch on my chin, and a bit on my forehead.  Again, to highlight and bring light to those areas on my face.  I also dabbed a bit on my eyelids to use as an eyeshadow base/primer.  I also pulled a bit of the product on my lids to shape underneath my eyes.  I blended out all of it with a dampened sponge.  To set under my eyes, I used my holy grail powder, the Milani Prep + Set + Glow Illuminating Transparent Powder (quick edit: Ulta is no longer carrying the Illuminating Powder, WTF?!?!  You can just use the Covergirl Pressed Powder under your eyes and it’ll still look great), then set the rest of my face with the Covergirl Outlast All-Day Matte Finishing Powder in Fair. | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA

Moving on to the rest of the face, it’s time to bronze, blush, and highlight this blank canvas!  For bronzer, I pulled out my Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer in Bronzer.  With a larger, fluffier brush, I dusted this along the hollows of my cheeks and the perimeter of my face, including my jawline and temples.  Next, I did a touch of blush.  I don’t know about you, but I tend to get a bit heavy handed with my blush, luckily, the L.A. Girl Just Blushing Blush, this one in the shade Just Playful, are pigmented to where you feel you don’t spend too much time building the product but not so pigmented you overdo it and feel a bit clownish.  For me personally, I don’t like the look of blush on the apples of my cheeks, but layering it a bit above where I blend in the bronzer.  To top off the face, what better way then to apply HIGHLIGHT.  Highlight is literally the icing on the cake.  The Essence Pure Nude Highlighter in 01 Be My Highlight looks beautiful on my skin tone.  I love how this gives a sort of candlelight glow to my skin, as you can probably see from my side smirk, haha. | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA

Up next is the eyes!  Like I mentioned earlier, for this look, I pulled out my The Wants Palette by Makeup Revolution and Emily Noel and was craving a Cranberry eye, which is easily achievable with this palette.  Starting off with setting up my crease I decided to pick up Prayer.  I took my time building and blending until I was satisfied with the intensity. | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA

Up next, I picked up Cheer, a nice rich cranberry red shade and worked that in on top of and a little below. | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA

Then, on smaller crease brush, I picked up just a smidge of Pi Phi, which runs a bit more plum, but I thought a touch of the plum would bring depth to the look without alternating the overall vibe of the look that I had planned. | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA

Now onto the fun, shiny part.  When looking at the palette, two shades seem like they would be a good fit for this look, Good Vibes and HeartbeatGood Vibes, although beautiful, leans more towards copper.  Heartbeat is a beautiful metallic red shade that I adore and especially adore for this look.  To get the most intensity out of this shade, I first picked it up on a flat shader brush then damped it with a little bit of setting spray, then what works best with these shades is to press and drag the product.  To blend out the edges, I picked up my fluffy brush, the one that I used for Prayer and just blended the edges together. | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA

Now, you could totally leave the look here, but I wanted to amp it up just a touch.  So, using the same technique that I did with Heartbeat, I grabbed a bit of Top Story but just swiped that in the center of the lid on top of Heartbeat.  Then, I did want to intensify the red in the crease again, so I picked up a bit more of cheer on a fluffy crease brush and blended that into the crease. | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA

To finish up the eyes, I decided to throw on a bit of liner, although if you are not a fan of eye liner, totally skip this step and the look will still turn out nice.  My personal favorite is the NYX Epic Ink Liner in Black.  Then in the water line, I used black waterproof pencil liner, this one is not Cruelty-Free because I am trying to use this up, it is the Rimmel Waterproof Kohl Kajal Pencil in Black.  The one I recommend that I’m going to be using next is the L.A. Girl Gel Glide Pencil in Black, much cheaper and just as creamy! | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA

Before applying mascara, I wanted to finish up the lower lashline by applying Cheer then smoking that out with a bit of Prayer.  For Mascara, I grabbed out the Covergirl Last Blast Mascara in Black and coated both the top and bottom lashes. | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA

To be a bit extra, I decided to apply false lashes, the Kiss Blowout Lash in the style Pompadour.  While waiting for the lashes to dry, I tried on two different lip options, both Wet N Wild Liquid Catsuits.  For more of a nude option, I swatched Nudie Patootie, one of my favorite nudes of all time.  As you can see in the picture below, I have one lash on, but to be more cohesive with the look, I put on Give Me Mocha. | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA

To finish it all off, I sprayed a bit of setting spray, right now I’m trying to finish up my FLOWER Beauty Seal the Deal Hydrating Setting Spray and that’s it!  This is the finish look!  I can’t wait till I pick up a ring light, hopefully, it will showcase more of the dimension of the look but I still think it looks pretty nice on camera.  I definitely love how it turned out in person.  The lashes are really nice, not super heavy, easy to apply, and the band was flexible.  They are also really inexpensive and reuseable! | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA | Affordable Holiday Glam Available at ULTA

So that’s it gang, that is my Affordable Holiday Glam all available at ULTA.  ULTA is my favorite place to shop for makeup, the rewards system is amazing, you can collect points and use them on high-end purchases or drugstore, and it is a one-stop shop for me.  I hope you found this interesting or helpful, or maybe even gave you inspiration to try something new or different.  I hope you have a great rest of your day and until next time!

Most Loved Products of 2018 | Most Loved Products of 2018

Hey gang, sorry for the week break.  Have had a brain fart on what to post.  However, seeing as the end of the year is slowly approaching I thought I would bring you my most loved, aka best beauty products of 2018.  Granted, I’m not over here trying a shit ton of products, but I’ve tried enough to really pick through and find some fantastic, holy grail products this year.  So, if you are curious as to what they are, then just keep on reading!

Please Note: This post DOES contain affiliate links. | CYO Long-Lasting Foundation Lifeproof

Starting out with foundation, I found one foundation that truly changed the game for me.  The only downfall is this brand is not verified cruelty-free.  I’m hoping in 2019 it will be, especially by Logical Harmony because this foundation is stunning on the skin.  It has a more skin-like appearance, is long wearing, doesn’t get heavy, and does not get super oily.  The shade 101 is a perfect shade match, with more of a grey-based undertone.  What I’m talking about is the C.Y.O. Long-Lasting Lifeproof Foundation.  This foundation is also a perfect mixing foundation, to increase wear time, give a more skin-like finish, and make foundations less cakey.  This was a recommendation from Taylor on YouTube and it has been restocked multiple times and continues to sell out, for a reason.  Stunning. | Milani Prep + Set + Glow Illuminating Transparent Powder

You know, most powders don’t do anything too astounding, they set the makeup, can prolong the wear time, make additional powder products easier to blend on top, but nothing like, holy hell, this is amazing.  Until I found the Milani Prep + Set + Glow Illuminating Transparent Powder.  Holy shit.  Unfortunately, I can’t fully describe the way it transforms the skin.  It gives it this soft glow, without looking greasy or affecting the foundation negatively.  The powder is very soft, almost buttery, and gives no additional coverage to the skin.  I was trying to use up other powders in my collection this past year, but once I went back to this powder it was like night and day on my skin. | Kat Von D Beauty Signature Brow Precision Pencil

Moving on to the eyes, I wanted to talk about a game-changing eyebrow product.  For me, it is the Kat Von D Beauty Signature Brow Precision Pencil.  When I found out Kat was coming out with brow products I was stoked!  Once I saw the shape, however, I was a bit skeptical.  I was comfortable using a micro brow type of pencil or a pomade.  I haven’t wanted to try a product such as the Brow Definer by Anastasia Beverly Hills because the shape was a bit of a turn-off.  Nevertheless, I went through and purchased this product.  It was changed my eyebrow game.  My eyebrows used to take me a while, but with this product, it has almost cut the time in half!  It is not super pigmented, nor too waxy, it was a perfect consistency and I don’t tend to blow through this pencil too quickly.  I’m almost finished with my second pencil and have 2 backups.  This for me is worth the splurge. | NYX Epic Ink Liner

Moving onto liner, I’ve used so many different liners, have wanted to do winged liner, not wanting to do winged liner, hating winged liner, until I realized the problem was the liners I was using.  I’ve learned for me, gel liners are a no go and liquids are the best.  However, on this scavenger hunt for a great liquid liner, many have been chucked against a wall.  Until the NYX Epic Ink Liner.  The brush tip applicator makes it easy for me to conform it to the shape of my eye, get a thick or thin line, and get it to a nice point.  Another plus is that it actually stays put, it doesn’t bleed, and doesn’t transfer into the corner of my eye.  Even using heavy duty makeup remover, this product stays put.  Such a winning product, plus it is incredibly budget friendly (costing around $9) and doesn’t dry out super quick. | Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipsticks

Now, if you have figured anything out about me, if you have been reading this for a bit, you know how much I love my liquid lipsticks.  The best brand that I have found, and trust me when I say I have practically tried them all, is the Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipsticks.  I’m a dog groomer and tend to make out with all the dogs I groom and see throughout the day.  Therefore, I need a product that is actually going to stay on.  This brand is the ONLY brand I have found that stays on and when it does fade, it doesn’t get flaky, crumbly, or weird.  It fades gracefully.  Also, if I need to touch up the product, it layers beautifully, no issues there, and the colors that I have are fully opaque in one application.  Highly recommend the investment with this product.  Plus, I have yet to finish a liquid lip, so in my opinion, you get a great bang for your buck! | EM Cosmetics True Gloss

Up next is a product I NEVER thought I would be so into.  I’m more of a matte lip type of girl, easy maintenance, don’t tend to worry about bleeding out of the lip line, getting all over the place, and plus the glosses I have used in the past have been incredibly heavy and sticky on the lips.  I don’t know about you, but I fucking HATE sticky glosses!  This EM Cosmetics True Gloss has definitely changed my mind about glosses!  It is very lightweight, extremely comfortable, not sticky whatsoever, creamy and opaque.  Emily Noel from YouTube recommended this product and I could kiss her for helping change my mind and helping me fall in love with a gloss! | Besame Cosmetics 1946 Red Velvet Lipstick

Clearly, 2018 was the year of the lip products.  I’ve always been a bit of a lip junkie, but I feel this year I have been able to narrow down some of the best lip products.  For regular lipstick, I chose my Besame Cosmetics 1946 Red Velvet Lipstick.  Yes, I even gave you a particular shade.  Now, I recently acquired two additional Besame lipsticks, but that was recently.  Therefore I wanted to focus on this shade in particular.  The shade is a perfect red for my skin tone and the formula is out of this world.  It is creamy, not waxy, doesn’t bleed out of my lip line, even without a liner, has great staying power for a regular lipstick, and let’s be real, the packaging is beyond gorgeous.  This is definitely more of a splurge type item, one lipstick setting you back around $22, but for me, the price is worth the product.  The shape of the bullet is also quite unique.  Each side is slanted, moving to a point, resembling a triangular tent if that makes sense.  It took a little bit for me to get used to, however, once I did, I ended up really loving it because it took out the step of a lip liner! | Catrice Prime and Fine Dewy Glow Fixing Spray

Here is another product that I never saw myself really caring about.  A setting spray.  This Catrice Prime and Fine Dewy Glow Fixing Spray blew every other setting spray out of the water.  Granted, the smell is not that great, but what it does for my makeup is mind-blowing.  Not only does it set my makeup, increase the wear time of my makeup, get rid of any powderiness to my face, but it gives this beautiful glow to my skin.  Radiance that doesn’t turn greasy, even on my normal to slightly oily skin. | Wet N Wild Under The Sheets Makeup Remover Towelettes

Last, but certainly, not least is a product that I feel gets overlooked in a best of beauty type video or post.  The Wet N Wild Under the Sheets Makeup Remover Towelettes were one of the first cruelty-free makeup removing wipes I tried after going cruelty-free.  I’ve tried a few from the Yes-To brands with no success, some from Burt’s Bee’s, yet this one surpassed them all.  It is great for removing swatches, doing a base cleanse to get the bulk of my makeup off, and removing matte liquid lipsticks.  I’m not too fond of the actual cloth because it tends to fray quite easily, but for around $3 a pack and it always going on sale, I can definitely deal with the cloth!

Holy shit guys, that definitely took longer than I anticipated but well worth it.  I enjoy reading or watching best of posts at the end of the year because it’s products that have outweighed every other product throughout the year.  Those I feel are the most important best of types of posts.  I would love to hear what were some of your most loved, best beauty products of the year in the comment section!  If it is something I haven’t tried yet, and obviously cruelty-free, I will definitely check it out!  Well, thank you so much for stopping by and reading, this was definitely a long one!  I hope you have a great weekend and until next time!

October & November EMPTIES! | October & November 2018 Empties

Hello, hello, hello, it is that time again, it’s all about the empties; products I have used up the past month or so.  I’ve decided to tailor my empties to solely focus on makeup and skincare, mostly because I find home empties pretty boring and for me, repetitive.   Therefore, I am bringing you my favorite part about empties, which is makeup related.  So if you are interested to see what I have used up, then just keep on reading!

Since September, I’ve been able to use up 2 eyebrow products/pencils, although one of them was because I broke it.  The one I successfully managed to completely use up was my Kat Von D Beauty Signature Brow Precision Pencil in the shade Graphite.  This has definitely become my favorite brow product.  I am currently working on another one in the shade Light Brown and have two more backups.  So yeah, definitely a fan.  The other brow pencil I managed to work through was my ELF Instant Lift Brow Pencil in the shade, Soft Brown.  This brow pencil is nice, worked well, but I think it would work better for someone who has naturally thicker brows.  I have very thin brows, so I prefer using a product with more precision.  If I had thicker brows, I would definitely repurchase because $2 for an amazing brow pencil is one hell of a deal!

Moving on, I managed to use up my last mascara that is not cruelty-free.  I tossed my L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara in Blackest Black.  This has been my favorite mascara since it came out.  I love what it does for my lashes and sadly I have not found anything that dupes it.  However, the couple Covergirl mascaras that I’ve tried recently are really nice and I cannot complain.  Any other Cruelty-Free Beauty Blogger still find it weird to mention Covergirl amongst the cruelty-free brand list??  Not complaining, just still getting used to it. | October & November 2018 Empties

I also have moved out another setting spray, this one being the Milani Make It Dewy Setting Spray.  I liked this setting spray at first and the best way I found to use it was underneath makeup, however, not the biggest fan of priming sprays.  I’m not a fan of using it to set my makeup because if you spray too much, your makeup looks greasy, not dewy and does alter the wear time of your makeup in a negative way.  Would not repurchase or recommend.

I also managed to work through another Wet N Wild Under the Sheets Makeup Remover Towelettes.  I’ve actually come to really enjoy these wipes.  I’m not the biggest fan of the cloth because it does fray a bit, however, I can work with it.  The remover itself doesn’t sting my eyes and I feel does a pretty good job at removing a good amount of my makeup.  I tend to always triple cleanse my skin.  If I use the wipes, I then go in with an exfoliating face wash, then a gentle face wash.  This doesn’t remove every bit of makeup and doesn’t get all of the waterproof mascara off, but it breaks up everything enough that once I go in with my cleansers, my face is sparkling clean at the end.  I guess you could call it a pre-cleanse step.  Would absolutely repurchase and currently have 3 backups (they were on sale). | October & November 2018 Empties

Last up, we have the product I am the proudest of.  My Jeffree Star Cosmetics Lip Ammunition Lipstick in the shade Celebrity Skin.  The reason I am so thrilled about this product is because I have NEVER finished a lipstick.  EVER.  I have either decluttered everything, lost it, or switch through products so often, that I have never taken the time to focus on one lip item and use it up.  This is such a huge accomplishment for me and honestly, I felt like I blew threw this product pretty quickly.  The formula was okay, not a revolutionary formula.  It was a bit drying on my lips and that is saying something since my lips can virtually withstand anything.  The shade was also a bit warm for my taste.  I don’t hate the product but wouldn’t repurchase.

That’s it, gang.  Those are the few products I have managed to use up in the past couple of months.  I swear I have used up a few more but I think I tossed them instead of putting them into my Sephora bag where I house my empty products.  What are some products that you have used up recently?  Anything you are most excited and proud about?  Well, I’m going to leave this hear and go celebrate my baby’s birthday!  It’s my Lil Bean’s birthday today, aka Lilith Rose, she is my little old lady.  So, we are going to have pasta and she’s going to have a little cake!  I hope you guys have a wonderful Wednesday and until next time!

Shop My Stash: December Makeup Basket | December Makeup Basket - Shop My Stash

Hey gang, hope all is well!  Currently, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is playing in the background and it is a beautiful, chilly day here in Seattle.  For dinner, I’m making Hot For Food’s Vegan Carbonara with Zucchini Cream Sauce, something hearty, warm, and delicious.  But that is not what this post is about, although I could talk about food for DAYS, today I am bringing you my December makeup basket.  I cannot believe we are in the last month of the year and personally my favorite month of the year.  Today is my 2 month anniversary with my boyfriend, believe it or not, he is the one that brought it up, my niece’s 4th birthday, on Wednesday it is Lil’ Bean’s birthday, the 15th Xandria’s birthday, the 16th my birthday, then we got Christmas, then New Years!  What a busy, busy month!  Anyway, let’s get into the makeup I plan on playing around with this month, besides my project pan items!

For my primer’s, I decided to keep working on my Milani Prime Shield Pore Minimizing + Mattifying Face Primer because I SWEAR I am almost finished with this bad boy, and I pulled in my deluxe sized sample of the Peter Thomas Roth Skin to Die For No-Filter Mattifying Primer & Complexion Perfector (do you think they could have done a longer name?)  I’m pretty sure PTR is not cruelty-free so I’d just like to work through another product that is not cruelty-free and get it out of my collection. | December Makeup Basket - Shop My Stash

Spoiler alert, I am just about done with my Besame Cosmetics Vanilla Brightening Powder, so I wanted to pull in a couple of powders to work on throughout the month.  One of them being my beloved Milani Prep + Set + Glow Illuminating Transparent Powder and one that I’m currently trying out which is the Covergirl Advanced Radiance Pressed Powder in 105 Ivory. | December Makeup Basket - Shop My Stash

For bronzer, I pulled in my Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer in Bronzer.  Luckily I’m not a huge bronzer hoarder, I only have 4 bronzers in my collection, least that I can recall, and one of them has pan showing.  So it would be nice, although unlikely, to hit pan in this bad boy. | December Makeup Basket - Shop My Stash

Highlighters are definitely something that I have way too many of.  So, rotating them is important.  For this month, I decided to pull my Wet N Wild Megaglo Highlighting Powder in Precious Petals for more of a blinding highlight and for a more soft, subtle daytime highlight I pulled in the Catrice Cosmetics Highlighting Powder in Champagne Campaign. | December Makeup Basket - Shop My Stash

Moving onto eyes, starting out with an eyeshadow palette, I wanted to show some love to my Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions Palette.  This palette is such a great high-end palette yet such a wonderful bang for your buck!  I think it runs about $27 and the eyeshadows are standard sizes.  The reason for pulling this palette in is because I can get some great daytime appropriate looks as well as go more dramatic for the holidays.  You bet your ass I’m going to be utilizing that silver for New Year’s Eve! | December Makeup Basket - Shop My Stash

For mascaras, I’m playing around with my two new Covergirl mascaras.  I have the Covergirl Lash Blast Volume Waterproof Mascara in Black/Brown, as well as the Covergirl Lash Exact Waterproof Mascara in Very Black.  I go for Waterproof due to being a dog groomer.  I do not want to risk my mascara running if I get soaked.  And yes, just because I am a dog groomer doesn’t mean I can’t wear makeup to work.

Lastly, we have the brow category!  I have so many different brow products it is not even funny at this rate.  However, in my defense, I tend to blow through most brow products pretty quickly.  I’m still working on my Kat Von D Beauty Signature Brow Precision Pencil in the shade Light Brown.  I think I have about one more month, maybe a month and a half left on that product.  I’ve also pulled in my NYX Professional Makeup Tinted Brow Mascara in Black, as well as the Tame & Frame Tinted Brow Pomade in Black.  I pulled in the pomade, even though I’m not a huge fan of them (just because of how long it takes me to do my brows), for use when I do more intense glam style makeup.  When the holiday season rolls around, I tend to do more “Glam” makeup just for the occasion.

So that’s everything, well everything excluding the stuff that is currently in projects.  If you are curious as to what other makeup items I’m using I will link both my Movie Madness Project Pan and my 12 Pans of Christmas Project Pan for you.  I’m curious to know what items you are pulling in to your monthly makeup basket, let me know in the comments!  I also want to know, if you celebrate Christmas, have you got your Christmas shopping done yet or are you a last minute procrastinator?  For years past I’ve been such a procrastinator, this year, however, I have about 90% of my shopping done and all of those gifts are wrapped, sitting under the Christmas tree!  Well, that does it for me, I hope you guys have a great rest of your day and until next time!  Thanks for stopping by!
