Hello, hello, hello gang. Told you I’d be back this evening with my first post for my Fitness Journey. We are going to get super personal and up close with pictures, measurements, and goals for the month. Now, I’m going to say this because I need to say this. This is my journey, I’m not here telling you how to go about yours. I’m not a doctor, nutritionist, or a personal trainer. I am going on this journey and figuring out what works best for me without starving myself, over straining myself, or making myself miserable. This is not a diet, this is truly a lifestyle change and adjustment. What works for me might or might not work for you. We are all different, all individuals. You do you boo! Now, let’s get on with this business!
Original Start Date: July 7, 2017
Original Start Weight: 242.6 lbs
Refresh Start Date: January 1, 2019
Refresh Start Weight: 219.2 lbs
Current Weight Loss: 23.4 lbs
There it is y’all, my current weight. At one point I managed to get down to 202.6 lbs, losing a total of 40 pounds but unfortunately, I gained back almost 18 pounds since August, the bulk of it since meeting my boyfriend. You know how it goes, just starting out, eating out more, yadda, yadda, yadda. It’s time to start holding myself accountable again, go back to being active, watch my portion sizes, and aim for 1600-1800 calories, more on my more active days. To help with that, I use the My Fitness Pal app. I’ve used it for the past couple of years and love it.
So, moving on, here are 4 goals for the month:
1. Restart Couch to 5k Training Program, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
2. Instead of focusing on counting calories this month, focus on portion control.
3. Drink 1 liter of water a day.
4. Aim for losing 5 pounds this month.
I think those are easy enough, however, everything is always easier said than done. I will do my best though to stay positive and strong through this. Luckily, I have a very loving and supportive boyfriend who loves me just the way I am but supports my decision to get fit and healthy. He’s pretty great. Anywho, on to the measurements!
January 1, 2019: Measurements
– Neck: 14.5 inches
– Left Arm: 16.25 inches
– Right Arm: 16.75 inches
– Chest: 39.5 inches
– Waist: 38.25 inches
– Hips: 46.5 inches
– Left Thigh: 27.5 inches
– Right Thigh: 27.75 inches
– Left Calf: 18 inches
– Right Calf: 17.75 inches
– Current Jean Size: Levi’s Women Size 12 (and it is a bit tight)
That’s it, this is the start of my refresh for my fitness journey for 2019. I just need to take it 5 pounds and one day at a time. I didn’t gain all of this weight overnight, I’ve been overweight since I was around 8 years old. There’s going to be further relearning of proper eating and portion control, getting back into the groove of working out, and making a shit ton of mistakes. Me back in the late 2000’s, I think around 2008-ish. I managed to get down to around 165 lbs. Still not at my goal, but I got close.
