Black Moon Cosmetics is a brand that I first heard of through Tori of Biohazardous Beauty on YouTube. Since then, I have been following their feed on Instagram, completely enamoured by their makeup brand. The overall aesthetic of the brand is beautiful, but let’s be real. If you are a creature of the night, you are obsessed with moons, am I right? Black Moon Cosmetics started in early 2015 and they are cruelty-free, vegan, paraben free, and gluten free.
So for about a year now, I have been back and forth debating if I wanted to order a few products from the brand or not. Well, clearly I bit the bullet and picked up a few items. Now, I am not reviewing anything today, I’m going to play around with everything for about a month and give my thoughts then. This is just the haul part. However, let me say, their customer service is EXCELLENT. Unfortunately, the first purchase I made from them, the package was incorrectly delievered and I never received it. The customer service team from Black Moon answered my email promptly, were incredibly sweet, and sent out another package to replace the lost/stolen one. Now enough blabber, let’s get onto the goodies!
Real quick, can we just take a moment to admire the packinging? Even the detail they put into the actual cardboard box that is sent out is beautiful! When I originally opened the package, everything was extremely secure, the Moonlighters were bubble wrapped and the lipsticks were wrapped in tissue paper with a cute little Black Moon sticker.
The Moonlighters are a recent release. I’m not sure if they are still doing this little perk, but if you ordered 2 or more the Moonlighters, they sent out a free face brush.
Of the Moonlighters, I decided to grab Squid ($22 US) and Centipede ($22 US). I don’t have an actual white highlighter, so I thought why not pick up one now? Centipede is more of a gold tone highlighter, but it looks like it fits for fair skin.
I also picked up a pair of lashes in the style Sagitarrius, because well, Sagittarius here. I thought it would be a crime for me not to pick up a pair.
Lastly, the liquid lipsticks. I picked up the Dearly Departed duo (currently on sale for $32 US) which contained Grim ($18 US) which is described as a “deathly delicious cool brown,” and Grave ($18 US), a brown with brick red undertones. I also decided to throw in Hazel, 1) it was on sale and 2) I don’t have anything like it. I thought it would be a fun way to step out of my grey, red, black, brown comfort zone lol. Hazel is a mix up of an army green and olive green. It was a limited edition shade and is sold out.
I’m beyond excited to play around with these items! Like I said earlier, I’m going to play around with these for about a month before I give my overall thoughts. Have you tried Black Moon Cosmetics before? What are some of your favorite products from the brand or least favorite? What other Indie brands do you think I should try next? Let me know in the comment section! Well, I think that does it for now! Thanks for stopping by and until next time!
